Jim's Big Question

Here is something I simply do not understand.

Many Republican politicians tout Christianity and Christian values. I've even heard them say Democrats are godless.

Why is it the Democrats who have compassion for the poor, the unemployed, the medically uninsured, and seniors? Why is it the Democrats who go with "What would Jesus do?" when there is a choice such as 1) cut social programs, or 2) stop tax breaks for billionaires? And what's this with guns that Republicans love so much? And the lies, like "Obama's death panels"? When Republican politicians invoke Christianity, it is about the biggest hypocrisy I know. It makes me sick.

I heard on the radio something I've believed for years - that if Jesus were here today, he would be a Democrat.
